Pleasant surroundings, good quality and well flavoured food. Enjoyed a lovely lunch here. Original art for sale as a bonus.
I tell everyone I can about this place. The price point is definitely a bit high which has turned off others I've brought with me but honestly, the quality of everything you get from here is WORTH IT. It's not an everyday thing unless you can afford it but if you're a student (like myself) looking for some great, brain-fueling food this is where to find it. I've never once left unsatisfied. When anyone I bring shows me discomfort with the prices I happily grab their bill so they can focus on the fantastic food they had instead. I should also mention I've been working in the industry well over five years, so truthfully it can be difficult to consistently impress me with something like this but they seriously hit the nail on the head everytime. I also hate hollandaise sauce normally but the first time I came in the chef personally came to me to mention that they'd missed the note of no hollandaise/on the side and I didn't even know it was on there. They offered to make it right but I was happy with it the way they intended it and now I get the hollandaise everytime! Keep up the great work! I'll keep coming whenever I need a benny or want to bring someone special to a nice brunch :)
What an amazing gem. Highly recommend their breakfast bowls and thank you for making a homemade hollandaise.
I found out about this cafe from a recent event and it was definitely a great experience. For the cafe, it has a very chill/friendly atmosphere that is good for meetups. In terms of food, I got a taste of their popular brunch bowl, the mimosa, and the (blueberry) crumble. The potatoes and the overall flavouring of the brunch bowl stood out to me the most and it is definitely worth trying. After checking their regular menu (i.e. prices and what’s included for the full portion), I think the items are slightly more expensive than some other places. Note that this may be because they get their supplies from local vendors.
Friendly staff. Strong americano worked well with avocado benny. Outside patio surrounded by trees. Clean. Pleasant music. Friendly fellow patrons. A hidden gem.
Stopped in for a midmorning coffee and a snack. Place was mostly empty this time of day. Service was quick and friendly. Coffee was good, and the quiche was great. Patio is apparently dog friendly, and I'll certainly be back on a sunny afternoon to try out the craft beer selections.
Pretty decent spot for brunch. Very small menu, so the selection process is easy. Pretty decent variance in the items offered given how small the kitchen is. The chef is an absolute star. Having worked in food service the professionalism and attention to detail was evident. My wife and I both had the same dish and it was presented identically. Both poached eggs were the same temperature (as requested) absolutely bang on. The use of sousvide was properly executed. The coffee was very good. Wait staff was as attentive as could be. The atmosphere was light and quiet. We didn't see any kids or overtly friendly kids areas. Something to keep in mind. Parking was fantastic, as was general access.
This is such a great community cafe. It has a lot to offer in terms of live music and atmosphere. My husband got the eggs benedict on the waffles which was about $15. The hollandaise was really great tasting. I got the waffles with berry compote and whipped cream. It was so delicious and great value at $9. The latte used really excellent espresso and the chai had a pleasant spice. The staff were extremely friendly and the bathrooms were very clean. I would definitely come back here again because of the variety of food and baked goods available.
